Bleeding is a common and potentially serious complication of acute and chronic renal failure. Most common: bleeding at the site of fistula access puncture or temporary venous access insertion. GI bleeding: is observed in up to 1/3 of uremic patients. Other: subdural hematoma, spontaneous retroperitoneal bleeding, spontaneous subcapsular hematoma of the liver, intraocular hemorrhage, and, hemorrhagic pericarditis with cardiac tamponade
